The Spec Miata (SM)
class is intended to provide the opportunity to compete in low cost,
production-based cars with limited modifications, suitable for
racing competition. The rules are intentionally designed to be more
open than the Showroom Stock class but more restricted than the
Improved Touring class.
The 1990-1993 1600cc,
1994-1997 1800cc and 1999-2005 1800cc Mazda Miata
2006
Specifications has been
approved by the SCCA for Regional and National racing in all
Divisions. The cars will be using a Bilstein shock with an
adjustable coil-over suspension with Eibach springs and sway bars
(front and rear, adjustable), steel braided brake lines. Toyo, Kumho,
Hankook and Hoosier tires are in use in the various regions.

Advanced Autosports always
has Spec Miata cars available in various stages of completion. We can build
one using your donor car or we can supply the donor. We also accept trade in
of your donor Miata for one of our race ready cars.
Most cars can be
completed in about a month. We can install motors, rebuild
transmissions, install data systems, install cool suits or any other goodies you
would like.

RACING
Advanced Autosports has 15 years
of experience in
big bore tube framed cars. Our customers have some of the most famous late
model Trans-Am cars ever built.
We have prepared cars for IMSA,
Trans-Am, Grand-Am and the American GT Challenge Pro Series. We have set
track records, had pole positions and won races in SCCA club racing and
vintage events. With our contacts throughout the
country we can locate the car that fits
your desires.
We offer full arrive and drive events, complete with transportation and track side
support from our experienced staff.
We have state of the art welding and fabricating equipment. MIG and TIG
welding of steel, aluminum and stainless steel are available. We can do
anything from general race prep, custom stainless steel exhaust headers, to
the complete restoration of your historic GT car.
We are also your source for the spare parts needed to keep your car running.
We are a dealer for Quarter Master, Tilton, Goodyear, Five Star, Fresh Air
Systems, Fuel Safe, Performance Friction, Brembo and Alcon to name just few.
We offer rebuild services for
Hewland and Weisman transmission and all brands of racing calipers.

Peter Mohrhauser

Peter Mohrhauser began racing in the spring of 1998; a graduate of
the Skip Barber Racing School at Road America, Peter also graduated
from the “Fast Track” Stock Car Racing School at Charlotte Motor
Speedway in August of 1999. In 1998, he competed in Michelin’s
Viper Days Race Series, was awarded the National Class Championship
as well as Rookie of the Year; by winning 4 of 6 races, while never
finishing worse than second.
Mohrhauser competed in 6 Formula Mazda Series Races in 2000,
collecting 6 podium finishes including 1 race win. He placed third
in the season standings, despite missing the last 4 races due to
schedule conflicts. In 2001, Mohrhauser competed in the 2001
Grand-American Road Racing Series with Orion Motorsports, driving a
Roush Racing Mustang in the American GT class at Lime Rock Park,
Connecticut, and Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
Mohrhauser made his first start in Vintage/Historic competition in
2002, racing his #00 RMS Motorsports Mustang in 2002 at the Brian
Redman International Challenge at Road America. Peter also made his
Sports Car Club of America debut in 2002, sweeping both ends of the
Road America Double Regional, after starting from the pole in both
races.
In
2003, Mohrhauser made his SCCA National debut by qualifying on the
pole and setting a new track record at Gingerman Raceway, and had
strong outings at Road America and Blackhawk Farms Raceway in
National competition.
In
2004, Peter drove the RMS Motorsports Mustang to two SCCA National
wins, at Road America and Gateway International Raceway, took second
at the June Sprints after qualifying on the front row, and capped
off the season with a strong run in his first SCCA National
Championship Runoff appearance. Mohrhauser also competed in the
American GT series, winning the Hoerr Racing “Hoerr Charger” Award
at the Lime Rock, Connecticut event.
2005 saw another runner-up at the June Sprints, and another SCCA
National victory at Road America. This year, Peter finally
broke through for a long-overdue June Sprints victory, leading every
lap from the front row for the big win.
Born June 14, 1970, Peter currently resides in Racine, Wisconsin
with his wife Julie and daughter Madeline, while owning and
operating Retail Maintenance Service, an international construction
maintenance company that services over 25,000 retail stores in North
America.
The
RMS Motorsports Mustang is sponsored by Retail Maintenance Service,
Versa Air, Goodyear Tires, and Brake Man Brakes. Race support is
provided by Dave Wheeler’s Advanced Autosports, in Wauconda,

Driver:
Bruce Nesbitt #11
Bruce Nesbitt started racing small bore production cars in the
mid-60s, driving Porsches, Mazdas, Datsuns, and Mini Coopers before
evolving into the high powered V8 sedan cars. During his amateur
racing career, Bruce achieved a great deal of success as evidenced
by being a 45-time SCCA National and many-time Regional winner, a
June Sprints winner and a SCCA Runoffs podium finisher.
Nesbitt began his professional racing career in 1984, in the IMSA
Kelly American Challenge, where he was a race winner, pole winner,
and top ten point finisher on multiple occasions. Bruce regularly
competed in the IMSA GTO and Trans-Am series from 1987 to 1998 and
finished in the top ten in year-end points on a regular basis. In
IMSA GTO, Nesbitt was a race winner, and in Trans-Am, Nesbitt was a
multiple-time Fast-Five Qualifier and Hard Charger Award winner.
Driving his #00 Roush Mustang in the 2000-2001 Grand-American Road
Racing series, Bruce was again a multiple pole winner and podium
finisher. An accomplished veteran of over 135 professional starts,
Nesbitt is widely recognized for his aggressive driving style and
outgoing personality.
Besides being a
successful racer, Nesbitt is the owner of Orion Industries, LTD of
Chicago, Illinois. Orion Industries is an authorized Dupont Teflon
Applicator and developer of precision coatings for industrial,
medical and food service uses. |
